Andrea is currently earning an M.A. in Musical Theatre Musical Directing at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. This one-year intensive program admitted only five students from around the world and culminates in a production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Andrea will be in Scotland until September 2012.

College Light Opera Company

Andrea spent the summer of 2011 in Falmouth, MA as Associate Conductor of the College Light Opera Company. Collaborating with another Associate Conductor, professional Principal Conductors, two accompanists, an orchestra of 18, and a vocal company of 32, she helped stage ten full-scale productions in ten weeks. She conducted the matinee performances of The Pirates of Penzance, Sweeney Todd, The Vagabond King, Wonderful Town, and Oklahoma!

Floyd Collins

Andrea served as Music Director for Floyd Collins for the Lewis Center for the Arts Program in Theater. Floyd, directed by Andrew Linz ’11, ran December 3-4 and 9-11, 2010 at the Matthews Acting Studio.

Strange Faces

Andrea’s senior thesis musical, Strange Faces, will be performed April 1-2 and 7-9, 2011 in the Matthews Acting Studio. This is Andrea’s first original musical, for which she will also serve as Director. Read the official information below:

Strange Faces explores the experience of growing up with Asperger’s syndrome, a high-functioning disorder on the autism spectrum, from the perspective of three families, in each of which a child has Asperger’s. We follow a young boy who likes trains and his parents; a precocious, talkative younger brother and his sister; and a pair of twins celebrating their eighteenth birthday. In this new musical, they come to understand and accept their roles, however atypical, in their families and in each other’s lives.

All performances will be held at 8:00 PM in the Marie and Edward Matthews ’53 Acting Studio, Lewis Center for the Arts at 185 Nassau Street.

The Great Immensity

Andrea is music directing a workshop of The Great Immensity, a new musical by The Civilians, at the Berlind Theatre on Saturday, April 17. The Great Immensity is by Steve Cosson and Michael Friedman, and it is presented through Princeton’s Atelier Program and the Princeton Environmental Institute. Performances, at 2:00 and 7:30 pm on the 17th, are free and open to the public.

Milton Lyon Award

Andrea was one of two recipients of this year’s Princeton Triangle Club Milton Lyon Award for Outstanding Writing! She received the award for her work on the Triangle Club’s fall 2009 production of Store Trek. Andrea composed five songs, penning lyrics for one, for Store Trek, which will play a tour of the Northeast US in January and return to the McCarter Theatre at the end of May. Congratulations to Nora Sullivan, the co-recipient of the award!

My Fair Lady

Andrea made her first onstage appearance in a Princeton musical as a pianist! She played Piano 1 in the two-piano version of My Fair Lady, a production by the Princeton Department of Theatre featuring Laura Hankin ‘10 as Eliza. My Fair Lady ran November 13-14 and 19-21 in the Berlind Theatre at the McCarter Theatre Center. Almost every show sold out, and the production received the rare rating of five “paws” from the Daily Princetonian!

Kingswood-Oxford Octopipers Commission
